Real Madrid will be aiming to make it four straight wins in all competitions when they welcome Espanyol to Bernabeu in La Liga this weekend.
Carlo Ancelotti‘s side beat Real Sociedad 2-0 in their last league fixture, before recording a 3-1 victory over Stuttgart in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Los Blancos have picked up 11 points from their opening five matches of the 2024-25 La Liga campaign, which has left them third in the table, four points behind the leaders Barcelona.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid’s injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Espanyol, who are 11th in the division, having collected seven points from their first five games.
Alaba suffered an ACL injury towards the end of last year, which required an operation, and he then underwent further surgery in the middle of May. The centre-back is making solid progress in his recovery, but he will not be available for selection until the end of the year.

Camavinga suffered a knee injury in a training session ahead of the UEFA Super Cup in August, which has seen him miss the early stages of the new La Liga season, but the midfielder has a slight chance of being back in the squad for this match.
Ceballos picked up an ankle injury during Real Madrid’s clash with Real Betis before the recent international break, and the midfielder is set to be on the treatment table until at least the end of next month
Real Madrid will be missing Brahim until at least the middle of November due to the hip abductor injury that he picked up during his side’s league fixture with Real Sociedad last weekend.
The 25-year-old was given the nod on the right-hand side for Los Blancos’ trip to San Sebastien, but he was forced off the pitch with just 25 minutes on the clock.
Real subsequently confirmed that Diaz had hurt his hip, although they did not give a timeframe on his recovery in their official medical report, simply stating that his progress would be monitored.
However, The Athletic claims that the former Manchester City product is set for a two-month spell on the sidelines, depriving Carlo Ancelotti of a versatile attacking option at a hectic point of the season.
Diaz is therefore not expected back in action until the middle of November if his recovery goes to plan, although Rodrygo is a like-for-like swap on the right-hand side of the attack.
