MIAMI (AP) – Second baseman Ozzie Albies was activated from the 10-day injured list on Friday by the Atlanta Braves for the final 10 days of their playoff berth pursuit.

Albies had been sidelined since fracturing his left wrist in a July 21 loss to St. Louis. The three-time All-Star got hurt trying to catch a throw when Michael Siani stole second in the ninth inning. Siani slid into Albies as the infielder reached for the ball, bending back his glove hand at an awkward angle.

Second baseman Cavan Biggio was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Atlanta is trying to earn a playoff berth without reigning NL MVP Ronald Acuña Jr., who had a season-ending knee injury on May 26.

Also on Friday, the Braves optioned infielder Cavan Biggio to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Biggio, 29, is 1-for-5 during four games with the Braves this season. He also has competed with the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers this season.

The son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio showed promise as a rookie with 16 homers, 48 RBIs and 14 steals in 100 games in 2019. He finished fifth in American League Rookie of the Year balloting.

But he’s since failed to reach double digits in homers or even had as many as 70 hits in a season. Biggio has a .225 career average with 51 homers and 186 RBIs in 524 career games.

New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto is going to try and land a contract worth north of $500M this offseason and after putting up a career high in homers (40 and counting) while slashing .287/.417/.576, so far this year, he’s likely to get the dollar amount he demands.

When he went yard in Seattle on Tuesday, Soto achieved the feat of homering in every MLB ballpark — at the age of 25. However, despite his brilliance on the diamond, he revealed a possible flaw in his mentality when he talked about his accomplishment:

“It’s one of the goals I’ve really put [thought] into in my career,” Soto said, per the New York Post’s Greg Joyce. “When I got to this year, being in the American League now, I was like, ‘I have a really good chance to do it.’ So right when I hit it, I was like,

‘Oh finally, I got the last one.’”
