Arsenal close to signing Brazil midfielder, medical at the end of the season, with both clubs prepared for £80 million verbal agreement – Report

Arsenal are interested in acquiring Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes at the conclusion of the season and might pay over £80 million, according to 90 Minutes.

The 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder has established himself as one of the greatest players in the Premier League, and it is no surprise that elite teams are expressing a strong interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to 90min, Arsenal is one of several clubs interested in signing Guimaraes at the conclusion of the season as Mikel Arteta tries to improve his title-chasing side.

The South American’s contract has a £100 million release clause that may be exercised before the middle of June. However, according to the source, Arsenal has been informed that Newcastle and the player have reached a verbal agreement to consider offers worth at least £80 million.

The Magpies are under pressure to sell one of their important players this summer to balance their books and comply with financial requirements, and Guimaraes looks to be the most probable candidate.

Arsenal isn’t the only team interested in the Brazilian international, according to 90min, as Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are as well.

Guimaraes could fancy. Arsenal changeover.
Arsenal must sign a quality centre midfielder who can manage the tempo of the game and provide greater technical skill in the middle of the pitch. The South American would be an excellent match for their style of play, and he could build a strong partnership with Declan Rice.

Guimaraes has four goals and eight assists this season, and if he moves to the Emirates Stadium, he will provide much-needed creativity in the centre of the pitch.

A transfer to Arsenal would also be an exciting step forward in the player’s career, as he hopes to contend for big prizes. He has established himself in the Premier League with regular performances, and he is absolutely capable of playing for any team in the country.

Guimaraes is at his prime right now and could strike the ground running at the North London club, but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal would spend at least £80 million to complete the move.

Arteta needs to bring in a top-tier striker and potentially a new left-back this summer, so Arsenal must be careful not to spend too much of their resources on a single player.
