Arsenal has been tardy in initiating their transfer business; however, with the upcoming season rapidly approaching, the Gunners are now prepared to resolve a number of squad-related concerns.

The Premier League giants are inching closer to a deal for Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, following the permanent signing of David Raya, who was recruited on loan from Brentford last season.

The Gunners have established their sights on two additional acquisitions, despite the fact that the Calafiori deal has not yet been finalised.

The North Londoners are expected to concentrate on the acquisition of a new midfielder and a striker in the upcoming weeks, as reported by Standard Sport.

Arsenal has been focussing on the acquisition of a new midfielder and attacker for an extended period of time. The club is currently in quest of a new midfield partner for Declan Rice and an attacker who is ruthless in front of goal.

Mikel Merino, the Euro 2024 winning midfielder, is the target of Arteta this summer in terms of midfield addition.

The Gunners have set their sights on the Real Sociedad midfielder, who was previously on the team at Newcastle United.

The Spaniard is recognised for his physical presence in the field, as well as his creativity and passing ability.

Arteta is in search of a more dependable midfielder for the upcoming season, as Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has encountered numerous fitness-related challenges during his tenure at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal’s acquisition of an attacker this summer remains uncertain.

Arsenal is in dire need of a striker who is prolific.
They have previously been associated with Benjamin Sesko, Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres, and Ivan Toney.

However, at present, no one is in a position to join the Premier League heavyweights, and the Gunners have a significant amount of work to do in this regard.

However, the North Londoners’ objective is evident: they are seeking to enhance their squad in order to once again contend for the Premier League title and, this time, surpass their league title drought, which has persisted since 2004.

Arteta is expected to receive the support of the club owners in order to resolve critical issues faced by the squad and make new signings, as was the case in previous windows.
