Arsenal Star Supposed to be Injured Spotted With Squad Ahead of Man Utd Clash

On paper, Manchester United vs. Arsenal is the Premier League’s most anticipated matchup this weekend. The Red Devils have had a poor season, and the Gunners are most likely out of the running for the championship, but given their past meetings, it might still be a fun matchup.

Nevertheless, injuries have decimated both teams. In addition to Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte, senior men like Lisandro Martinez, Amad Diallo, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, and Jonny Evans are also rooting for Ruben Amorim.

With key forwards Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli all sidelined with chronic ailments, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal front line has been severely weakened at a critical juncture in the season.

One of those players has been seen going up to Manchester with the team, which is good news for the Gunners. In fact, footage that has surfaced online seems to depict Martinelli amongst the team.

Martinelli was spotted in Manchester with the Arsenal team.
Not anticipated to return until April

Although it is unclear if he will contribute in any way, the fact that the Brazilian is clearly getting closer to making a comeback is undoubtedly good for the team. However, many fans will be surprised to see him in Manchester.

Since early April is thought to be a realistic target date, Martinelli is not anticipated to return until after the March international break. However, Arteta was evasive about the player in the news recently, so maybe he’s ahead of schedule. The Spanish speaker stated:

“I suppose so [return after the international break], but let’s see how they change over the next few weeks to make the appropriate decisions. After that, we’ll have to gradually integrate them as well because they’ve been absent for a very long period.

“They’re making good progress, but they’re still a ways off. Tomorrow, we’ll meet to talk about their whereabouts, particularly Gabi, who most likely has a chance to enter before Bukayo, though we’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the course of the following week.”

Before taking a break for international football, the Gunners play Chelsea in the league on Sunday, PSV in the Champions League, and Man United at Old Trafford this weekend. They will play Fulham at home on April 1.
