Besiktas Fans Make Feelings Clear About Ole Gunnar Solskjaer After Huge Moment in Season

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer returned to management in January as Besiktas’ head coach, after being out of the game for more than three years. It was his first managerial post since leaving Manchester United in November 2021. Following a difficult stint at Old Trafford, the Norwegian’s image as a coach suffered significantly, and he was no longer held in high respect.

Just over a month after taking over at Turkish club Besiktas, the manager has made quite an impression on his new club’s fans, who haven’t been hesitant about voicing their thoughts on him online. Since taking over on January 18, Solskjaer has yet to taste loss in the Turkish Super Lig with Besiktas, and their fortunes have changed.

On Friday evening, the team defeated fourth-placed Eyupspor 3-1 to leapfrog them in the table and earn a Europa Conference League qualification spot. The result is the largest of Solskjaer’s rule thus far, and Besiktas fans have taken to social media to express their views.

After goals from Rafa Silva, Milot Rashica, and Semih Kilicsoy helped Besiktas come from behind to defeat Eyupspor and move into fourth place, the Turkish club’s fans couldn’t contain their excitement and took to Twitter (X) to celebrate their new boss.

One fan praised Solskjaer, stating, “We looked like an unsolvable case, were in a complete mess, until he arrived and turned (for the time being) everything around.” After a long period, we finally appear to be a cohesive unit. He has restored the players’ excitement and confidence. So far, he has been a blessing to us. Another fan echoed this view, writing, “Thanks to him, we – Beşiktaş fans – could start looking at the league table again after a very long time.”

While Besiktas has had a promising start under Solskjaer, one supporter is even more excited to see where things go in the future, saying: “He is a terrific person. As a Beşiktaş fan, I’m excited to see what he does. There is a significant turnover in the team.”

A fourth admirer referred to him as a’magician’, writing, “He is a magician and we trust him,” while a fifth supporter simply stated, “He’s a blessing.”
