Breaking News: A big report on two possible Arsenal signings today

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Arsenal is attempting to buy Real Sociedad star Mikel Merino this summer.

Mikel Arteta’s admiration for his fellow Spaniard was disclosed by senior journalist Pete O’Rourke during an interview on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

Compared to Arsenal’s other target, Viktor Gyokeres, the 28-year-old midfielder is seen to be a simpler deal to sign as he approaches the final year of his contract with the La Liga team.

Unless an extension is agreed upon, Real Sociedad’s summer transfer window, which they have set at a fee of £20–25 million, will be the only one in which they can profit from him.

Merino made 45 appearances last season, scoring eight goals and dishing out five assists.

There will be rivalry for Arsenal to capture Mikel Merino.
Merino may be of interest to Arsenal, but other elite teams are keeping an eye on the seasoned striker.

He is currently being watched by Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as well, though it’s thought that Barcelona would find it difficult to pay for him.

Arsenal is presently in the lead, according to reports, despite the competition to sign him.

Although Merino only scored once in 24 games during his time at Newcastle United, he does have some Premier League experience.

Gabriel Jesus is anticipated to remain at Emirates Stadium this summer, despite Arsenal’s summer transfer window being open for business. This information was obtained by Football Insider.

The Gunners have no intention of selling the Brazilian, but they are ready for offers.

In other developments, Arsenal is getting close to signing Nketiah.
