Arsenal will encounter their Premier League counterparts, Liverpool, in their upcoming pre-season friendly on Thursday.

Mikel Arteta’s team emerged victorious in a penalty shoot-out against Bournemouth following a 1-1 draw in their first pre-season match. They then went on to secure a 2-1 victory against Manchester United in their most recent game.

The Spaniard will be content with his team’s efforts this summer, as the North London side aims to compete for the Premier League championship once more. They have finished as runners-up in the past two seasons.

Arsenal have strengthened their team by acquiring the services of defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna this month. Additionally, David Raya has permanently joined the team after a loan spell from Brentford last season.

According to reports, one of Arsenal’s offensive players has consented to a possible transfer to France.

According to Fabrizio Romano, striker Eddie Nketiah has given his consent to the possibility of joining Ligue 1 team Marseille during the upcoming summer.

The writer asserts that the French team is actively pursuing a contract with the English player, although the specific amount of money to be paid has not yet been agreed upon by both parties.

Nketiah, aged 25, is an alumnus of Arsenal’s youth academy and has accumulated over 160 appearances for the Gunners in various competitions, with a total of 38 goals scored.

In the previous semester, the former England national player appeared in 27 out of Arsenal’s 38 Premier League games, but was only included in the starting lineup on ten occasions.

He has a contract with his childhood club until the conclusion of the 2026/27 season, although there is a possibility that he may leave The Emirates before the current transfer window ends.

Marseille is reportedly pursuing both Nketiah and Valentin Carboni, an Inter Milan midfielder who was loaned to Monza, another Italian team, last season.
