It appears that Enzo Maresca, the new manager of Chelsea, has been granted the go-ahead to make the club’s sixth summer acquisition. Owner Todd Boehly is supporting his new guy, and Stamford Bridge has seen another hectic transfer window thus far, despite the seeming worries about profit and sustainability standards.

Furthermore, Maresca has decided against signing another South American player after leaving Leicester this summer.

Aaron Anselmino, a defender for Boca Juniors, reportedly agreed to a personal contract before a medical exam and a £14 million transfer.

The 19-year-old Argentinean will play on loan at Boca until January, but is anticipated to ink a six-year contract with the London team. Despite having only made his senior professional debut in June 2023, he has already made ten first-team appearances and is being hailed as a potential star.

Chelsea must have been drawn to his versatility because the adolescent player is just as comfortable playing in midfield as it is at centre back. Juan Roman Riquleme, the club president and 51-time international cap winner for his nation, has also praised his potential.

He told reporters, “He has grown a lot.” “He is going to be a fantastic football player because of his development, maturity, and willingness to learn. He intends to participate in national team competitions. He’ll be up against the centre backs.”

Five players have been added to Chelsea since the summer transfer window opened on June 14. Tosin Adarabioyo, a former Fulham defender whose contract had expired, was the first to arrive on a free transfer.

Then, it was announced that Estevao Willian, another young wonder from South America, would be joining from Palmeiras in a £48 million transfer. But the 17-year-old winger, who was originally expected to continue his development in Brazil, will stay in Brazil until 2025.

Omari Kellyman, a midfielder for Aston Villa who was reportedly bought on potential despite only turning 18 in September of last year, has also joined for £19 million. Marc Guiu, a striker from Spain, arrived this week for £5 million from Barcelona. He is the same age.

Additionally, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall signed as No. 5 on Tuesday. The 25-year-old midfielder, who played a key role in the Foxes’ ascent to the Premier League, followed Maresca from Leicester in a £30 million transfer.

In order to cover transfer expenses, Chelsea is also anticipated to make sells. The club’s finances have improved with the sale of Ian Maatsen, a defender who signed a contract with Aston Villa for an estimated £37.5 million.
