News sources say that Manchester United is getting close to signing Mazraoui from Bayern Munich now that West Ham has dropped out of the race.

There was news in The Mirror a few days ago that the Germans think their most valuable asset is worth £25m.

The Hammers and the player agreed to a 20 million euro discount deal, but they couldn’t agree on personal terms, and the deal fell through.

At this point, Manchester United is getting close and has made progress in their plan to sign Mazraoui from the German giants.

AZ says that West Ham and the 26-year-old defender’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, were unable to come to an understanding, and the deal fell through.

At this point, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are deep in talks to complete the deal for the Moroccan player.

Mazraoui has played 28 times for the African country, but he was born in the Netherlands and played more than 100 times for Ajax under Erik ten Hag before moving to Germany.

So, it’s not a surprise that the boss of Manchester United wants to get back in touch with another former player at Old Trafford.

However, United had a lot of injuries in the defensive third last season, and it doesn’t make sense to sign a player who spent most of the season on the ground.

Mazraoui played for the Atlas Lions and made it to the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup. However, he was hurt a lot that season and could only start 15 Bundesliga games.

Wyness, who used to be Everton’s Chief, told Football Insider:

“He has a bad history of getting hurt.” United will do medicals, but they don’t always tell you everything you need to know about a player’s long-term health.

What do you think? Should Manchester United make a deal with Bayern Munich to get Mazraoui?
