With the signing of a new deal, Samuel Mather will remain a member of Manchester United until 2027.
With the inclusion of a one-year option, Mather’s future with the Red Devils is certain.
Mather’s National League loan stint at Rochdale aided in his player development.

Italian writer Fabrizio Romano reports that Samuel Mather, a teenage player for Manchester United, has recently agreed to a new three-year contract.

While bringing in new players is Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS’s primary goal during the summer transfer window, locking down some of their key players will also be crucial. Although Mather hasn’t yet had an influence on the senior team, staying longer at Old Trafford might be very beneficial for the team going forward.

In order to bolster the first-team roster, Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro were already signed during the summer transfer window. INEOS further cemented their dominance after assuming control earlier in the year.

He decides to remain until 2027.

Mather has reportedly inked a new long-term deal with Manchester United that will keep him there until 2027, according to Italian reporter Romano. Additionally, the Red Devils will have the choice to retain him for one more season with the team.

Mather made ten appearances in the National League during his loan period at Rochdale during the second half of the 2023–2024 season. Stretty News claims that Mather was sent on a flexible loan, allowing him to play for another club for a period of time and earn experience, although he continued to train regularly at Carrington.

Along with players like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, the young winger participated in the 2021–2022 FA Youth Cup campaign, during which United won the championship. Mather will be looking to emulate the latter two as they have emerged as important players of the senior team.

With Mather’s contract scheduled to end in 2025, there were concerns over his future after he had a long-term injury in recent years. Now that United has shown faith in the fresh talent, the young star will be signing a new deal.

A recent update on Manchester United’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte was also given by Italian reporter Romano. The Uruguayan international is now under contract with the Red Devils, but they are still negotiating a possible cost with PSG.

Although the two teams have reportedly been in “constant dialogue” since June, United has not yet received word on whether an official offer has been accepted or rejected. Given that United doesn’t seem to be prepared to be played with when it comes to valuations, this could be a situation that lasts for a few more weeks.
