According to rumors, Manchester City may try to move for one player if Kyle Walker departs.

Kyle Walker signed a contract with Manchester City in the summer of 2023, and it expires in 2026.

Walker turned 34 in May, so it makes you wonder how long he can continue to play at the best level.

In the event that Kyle Walker leaves, Man City may attempt to sign one player.
For Manchester City in the previous season, Kyle Walker started 41 games in the FA Cup, Champions League, and Premier League.

Despite his advanced age, Pep Guardiola appears to have complete faith in the Englishman.

But what more can Walker accomplish at the club level now that he has led Manchester City to a Premier League championship?

The former Tottenham Hotspur right-back would have been justified in leaving European football should England win Euro 2024.

The Athletic have stated that Manchester City might be lured in by Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival should Kyle Walker decide to leave the Etihad Stadium.

Bayern Munich will compete with the Premier League winners to sign the Bayer Leverkusen defender.

It was reported in May that even if Kyle Walker decides to stay at Manchester City, they may still try to sign Jeremie Frimpong, who has a £35 million release clause in his contract.

It’s thought that the Bundesliga champion would be open to moving to the Premier League.

Is Jeremie Frimpong even qualified to play right-back?
In our opinion, Manchester City would have an unexpected succession plan if they believed that Jeremie Frimpong was Kyle Walker’s successor.

In contrast to Walker, the 23-year-old is not a right-back known for intimidating opponents, and more significantly, he has experience playing as a right wing-back for Bayer Leverkusen.

Under Xabi Alonso, Jeremie Frimpong’s primary responsibility is to bomb down the flank and contribute goals and assists, while Kyle Walker is expected to be Manchester City’s rock on defense.

Frimpong may be a far better attacking player than Walker, but Guardiola plays a back four at City, as opposed to Alonso’s back five, so perhaps the same cannot be said defensively.

Unlike Walker, the Dutchman fits the system perfectly because he is a more natural wing-back than a traditional right-back.

But if City wants to bring in Jeremie Frimpong in case Kyle Walker departs, Pep Guardiola will probably come up with a scheme to fit him in.
