The likelihood that Erik ten Hag will be in charge of next Saturday’s match against Brentford increases with the length of time that has passed since Manchester United’s two high-profile meetings at the beginning of the week. Gary Neville, who was a member of the stadium’s renovation Task Force, provided some new information about the first of the two games at Old Trafford.

Co-chairman Joel Glazer, United’s football leadership team, and INEOS heads Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sir Dave Brailsford were among those present, and it was said that Ten Hag’s future was on the agenda.

Neville, however, asserted that during the initial round of negotiations in Manchester, no such conversations occurred. A day later, he did not attend the second meeting in London.

Man Utd may regret the sale of the bargain.

It’s possible that Manchester United will regret selling Alvaro Fernandez this summer for under £5 million.

After exercising an option-to-buy clause in the loan agreement that allowed Fernandez to spend the second half of the previous season in Portugal, Benfica paid the nominal price.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly keeping an eye on the 21-year-old after an outstanding start to the new season, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.

United promised to buy Fernandez back for a certain price in the deal that brought him to Benfica.

In negotiations with England, Tuchel

Bild reports that Thomas Tuchel is negotiating to become the next permanent manager of England.

Manchester United is reportedly interested in the German as well, but they will lose out if the FA chooses him to succeed temporary manager Lee Carsley, whose experimental team lost shockingly to Greece 2-1 at home on Thursday night.

Tuchel has apparently been contacted, but according to The Telegraph, the FA has not yet “formally interviewed” any of their top prospects and is determined to keep the process private while Carsley is in charge.

McCarthy: I’m still getting texts from Rashford

Benni McCarthy, the former coach of Manchester United, says he and Marcus Rashford are still messaging.

McCarthy coached United’s attackers for two seasons under Erik ten Hag.

Additionally, Rashford scored 30 goals in all competitions in 2022–2023—the best season of his career.

McCarthy stated in an interview with SuperSportTV: “He would come to me for any kind of advice, and I mean anything.” We continue to message one another.
