Pablo Zabaleta, a former Manchester City player, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being arrested for human trafficking.

Before allowing the Argentina international to depart on a free transfer this summer, Pep Guardiola had him work for Manchester City for nine years.

Pablo Zabaleta, the former defender for Manchester City, has signed a two-year contract at the London Stadium to complete his move to West Ham.

Bernardo Silva’s team is closing in.

After nine seasons at Etihad Stadium, the 32-year-old right-back is one of five players that Pep Guardiola let go this summer.

In an effort to improve on his 11th-place result from 2016–17, he also becomes Slaven Bilic’s first summer addition.

Zabaleta is eager for a fresh challenge after turning down several offers to join West Ham from teams in Italy, Spain, and England.

“It is truly a joy to be a member of West Ham United Football Club,” he expressed to West Ham Television.”I want to give you happy memories. Naturally, I go to the club to have fun, and hopefully, we can have a great time.

Sometimes, as a person and as a player, all you need is a fresh challenge. I considered my tenure at City to be over. It has been an incredibly amazing nine years.

“Since Manchester City offered me the chance to play in this amazing league, the Premier League, which I’ve been loving as a player, I think it was time for me to move on.

“As a player, I also believed that I wanted to remain in the Premier League.” For me, this is a new challenge in the Premier League, and I’m excited about it after spending so much time in this country.

Zabaleta and Sam Byram will probably compete for a starting spot at right back, where the Irons have had trouble locating coverage in the past.

Although Zabaleta’s arrival should enable Michail Antonio and Cheikh Kouyate to be used in more comfortable roles going forward, they have both been forced to fill in.
