Following the publication of Cole Palmer’s post following Chelsea’s resounding victory over Southampton, fans have voiced their disapproval of the England star.

Chelsea, coached by Enzo Maresca, won 4-0 against Southampton, who were in last place in the table, at Stamford Bridge. This victory was a welcome relief for Chelsea, which had suffered three consecutive defeats.

The victory for the home team was secured by goals scored by Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella; however, it is noteworthy that Chelsea’s star player, Kevin Palmer, did not find his way onto the scoresheet.

Shortly after the conclusion of the game, Palmer took to social media to express his reaction to the outcome, and his followers are not pleased with him.

The 22-year-old Palmer is arguably in the worst form he has been in since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer of 2023. Palmer’s performance on Tuesday was just one of a series of disappointing outings that Palmer has been having recently that have been disappointing.

It has been seven games since the Englishman last scored or assisted on a goal, and he has decided to address this disappointing form by posting on social media on Tuesday. He has not been able to score or assist on any of his goals.

A message from Palmer was posted on his Instagram story, and it read, “Well done, guys, +3.” Don’t be concerned; I will be back soon.

A number of fans responded positively to the post, assuring the youngster that they are rooting for him and are confident that he will soon return to his previous level of performance. However, there were also some fans who did not show as much support.

One fan wrote the following in response to a screenshot of the story that was posted on X: “Don’t be selfish, you don’t have to apologise. We were victorious.”

“He should have a day off, just big your team up… don’t make it obvious that you always want to be in the lamplight,” said another person who concurred with the previous statement.

One of them wrote, “Caption that is not necessary. Take part in the game with the team. We require the return of Chelsea more than we require the return of any one player individually. This is Chelsea, Cole Palmer, and they are more powerful than any player.

Despite the fact that it was obvious that some fans were dissatisfied with Palmer, Chelsea manager Marc Maresca expressed his support for his star player and reassured fans that he will soon return to his previous level of performance.

“It’s completely normal, every top player goes through this, it’s completely normal, you cannot expect Cole Palmer every game to be like the first part of this season or the previous season, it’s about how he reacts now, he’s calm and still happy,” the Italian manager said after the game. “It’s completely normal.”
