Celtic has been connected to numerous managers in recent days. While we believe some would be suitable for the position, some may not be. Finally, though, the Hoops have been connected to a candidate who may be ideal for the Parkhead position. It’s unclear at this point if they will actually try to bring him in.

It is none other than Kjetil Knutsen who is the manager in question. Since 2018, he has been at Bodo/Glimt, turning them from relative unknowns to a squad that can compete in the Champions League.

According to Sky Sports, Celtic has been keeping tabs on Knutsen of Bodo/Glimt. However, it might be difficult to persuade him to leave his current team in the middle of the season.

To put it mildly, some of Knutsen’s accomplishments at Bodo/Glimt have been extraordinary. And things are only going to get better. With them, he has already won four league titles, and he is currently aiming for a fifth.

Finally, Sky Sports confirms Celtic’s interest in the outstanding boss.
Knutsen’s domestic accomplishments have undoubtedly been outstanding. However, he has had an equally significant impact at the European level.

His Bodo/Glimt team made history a few seasons ago when they advanced to the Europa League semi-final. They were the first team from Norway to achieve so.

Many would believe that Knutsen’s success is due to the fact that he is at a team that expects success, like Celtic. However, Bodo/Glimt had not previously won a league title, thus that is not the case. Additionally, he led them to their first-ever appearance in a major European tournament’s group stage.

Celtic needs to get a manager like this to address the issues they have been having for years, particularly on the European stage. Curiously, Knutsen’s present contract is set to expire at the end of this year. The Hoops may be able to acquire their man as a free agent if Shaun Maloney and Martin O’Neill can lead the team for the next several months.

Celtic supporters will appreciate Bodo/Glimt’s high-pressing, forward-moving style of game under Knutsen’s direction. Naturally, the Hoops had previously experienced it a few years prior when they were defeated by the Norwegian team in the Conference League.
