The Manchester United forward has been absent from the past four matches due to a muscular issue.

Kasper Hjulmand, the head coach of Denmark, has seemingly confirmed that Rasmus Hojlund will be the starting player for Manchester United in their next FA Cup match against Liverpool on Sunday.

Hojlund has been inactive since sustaining a muscular ailment prior to United’s 2-1 home loss to Fulham last month. The striker, who is 20 years old, has been out from the last four matches and his absence has been strongly felt over a period of two losses in three Premier League games.

United successfully advanced beyond Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup during that period and will host Liverpool at Old Trafford in the most anticipated quarter-final matches.

Last week, Erik ten Hag indicated that Hojlund might participate in the upcoming weekend. When questioned about the possibility of an international selection, Denmark’s head coach Hjulmand presumably affirmed that the attacker will be involved to some extent.

“Rasmus will definitely play against Liverpool on Sunday and it is crucial for him to perform well throughout the game,” Hjulmand stated in an interview with Danish publication Campo.dk on Tuesday. “We anticipate that.” We are now in communication with United. I have communicated with Erik, and we anticipate that it will occur. However, it is evident that he must successfully complete the game in order for an international call-up to be feasible, and there must be no obstacles preventing this outcome.

The comeback of Hojlund will significantly enhance United’s performance, as they have greatly felt the absence of the Dane’s goal-scoring ability and ability to retain possession. During his absence, and with Anthony Martial also unavailable due to surgery in January, Ten Hag has been lacking a striker specialized in the No.9 position.

United’s prospects may be enhanced by the comebacks of Mason Mount and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, both of whom participated in comprehensive first-team training earlier this week. It remains uncertain if either of them will be accessible within the given timeframe, but Ten Hag did imply that both of them, as well as Maguire, would participate last week.

Manchester United’s official statement said that Aaron Wan-Bissaka has rejoined the squad in preparation for the upcoming Emirates FA Cup match against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The defender was photographed on the training grounds at Carrington on Tuesday morning, with midfielder Mason Mount, who has also been missing from the Reds’ recent matches.
