Penalties for prolonging the Game For prolonging the game, both goalkeepers and outfield players have the potential to get cautions, yellow cards, or additional punishments. There is a rule known as the “offside rule,” which states that a player who is in an offside position might become “onside” if an opponent plays the ball. Behaviour of Goalkeepers with Regard to Penalties Goalkeepers may be subject to penalties if they attempt to divert the attention of a player who is taking a penalty kick. In accordance with the regulations governing the technical area, it is forbidden for coaches to swarm the technical area, and only one official is permitted to present themselves in the specified space outside the team bench. For players that confront the referee in order to demand a card or other actions, there is the possibility of receiving a penalty.
