Arsenal has reportedly started negotiations to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz this summer, according to Duncan Castles on Football Transfers.

Ruiz was a key member of Spain’s winning squad during the 2024 European Championship, contributing two goals and an equal number of assists during his six appearances in Germany.

According to the source, Mikel Arteta believes the 28-year-old is the perfect fit for the style of play he wants his team to play, with the Arsenal coach being especially impressed by the player’s one-on-one skills and passing accuracy.

Fabian Ruiz might be viewed as the ideal successor for the academy graduate Emile Smith Rowe, and the Gunners and Fulham are nearing an agreement on his trade.

Even with his outstanding performances for Spain in Germany this summer, Ruiz might be had for a fair price. Transfermarkt values the 28-year-old at £30 million, and Football Transfers reports that Arsenal may take him on a first-year loan with a buyout clause in place for the following summer.

Luis Enrique hasn’t used him much at Paris Saint-Germain, but it appears that Arsenal is prepared to give him a fresh start this summer as they continue to reassemble their squad in an attempt to beat Manchester City to the Premier League title.

Fabian Ruiz is Arsenal’s best new addition.
Given his familiarity with his compatriot’s style of play, Mikel Arteta should not be surprised that he has taken an interest in Fabian Ruiz’s profile, especially in light of his Euro 2024 heroics.

He was among the best midfielders in the world at Napoli, but with PSG, things haven’t exactly gone as planned for him. This summer, the Ligue 1 team might be willing to let him go in order to create place for Joao Neves, who is expected to join from Benfica.

Although negotiations are now in progress, it would be intriguing to observe how things progress over the next few weeks. If Arsenal is able to reach an agreement, Ruiz would undoubtedly be a great addition to Arteta’s team.

The Spaniard would be the star of Arteta’s team and might be forced to leave the Parc des Princes in order to rekindle his career at the Emirates Stadium.
