The 21st of March will mark the first time that Thomas Tuchel will be in charge of England, but what kind of lineup could he possibly put together?

The appointment of Tuchel, who is 51 years old, as the head coach of the Three Lions took place in October; however, he did not begin his official duties until January.

The German will be eager to evaluate his options prior to the international break that will take place in March. During this break, England will play matches against Albania and Latvia at Wembley Stadium on March 21 and May 24.

On March 13, he will announce his first squad, and fans will be eager to find out if any players are selected for the first time when they are called up to the team.

The fact that Tuchel had “touched base” was disclosed by James Maddison, who has not competed for England since before the Euro 2024 tournament in June of last year.

“I believe he was reaching out to a lot of players who would be in the selection, probably quite a big pool of players that the FA have identified,” the Tottenham midfielder explained. “I think he was communicating with a lot of players.”

On the other hand, who else might be brought back into the England coaching staff?

The right-back for Arsenal Ben White has not participated in a game for the Three Lions since March 2022. He also made himself unavailable for selection after returning home from the Qatar World Cup due to personal reasons.

According to BBC Sport, Tuchel has reportedly “carried on conversations” with the Arsenal defender regarding the possibility of him returning to the national team.

White, who is 27 years old, will be faced with competition from players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, Tino Livramento, and Kyle Walker for a position in Tuchel’s squad. However, the German coach’s preferred choice will undoubtedly become more apparent after he has coached for two games currently.

Following an outstanding season at Chelsea this season, Cole Palmer is also likely to play a more significant role with the national team for the upcoming season.

“To be fair, it was frustrating at England,” Palmer said in an interview with GQ in November, with reference to the 2024 European Championship.

Not to imply that the players aren’t talented in any way. To put that into perspective, I was just coming off the back of the season I had, the form I was in, and everything I was doing was falling apart.

The fact that I did not participate in the first two games, despite the fact that the team was having a difficult time, was a little bit like, ‘Why?’ Is it clear to you what I do mean?

To what extent, however, could Tuchel’s first England XI be composed? The following is a prediction made by SPORTbible regarding how the Three Lions might line up.

The following players were selected: Pickford; White; Guehi; Branthwaite; Alexander-Arnold; Rice; Bellingham; Hall; Palmer; Maddison; Kane.
