Manchester United has allegedly initiated direct talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a possible January loan deal for striker Randal Kolo Muani, one of the club’s most costly signings.

United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim, is anticipated to pursue a more prudent transfer plan than Erik ten Hag, who spent more than £600 million in two and a half years. Initial sources indicated that the club would remain quiet during the January transfer window unless an unforeseen chance presented. However, it appears that such an opportunity may be emerging.

United are thought to have approached PSG about loaning Kolo Muani, who joined the French champions from Eintracht Frankfurt in September 2023 for £64.2 million with £12.2 million in possible add-ons. Despite his high transfer fee, the French international has struggled to make an impression in Ligue 1, scoring only two goals in 12 games under PSG manager Luis Enrique.

According to Alexis Bernard of *Le10sport*, Manchester United has shown interest in Kolo Muani, demanding a loan for the second half of the 2024/25 season. Due to financial constraints, the English club is now unable to execute a permanent move. Kolo Muani must now decide whether to continue at PSG and battle for a spot or to go on a new journey at Old Trafford with Amorim.

In a recent interview with *Telefoot*, Kolo Muani addressed concerns about his future, emphasising his desire to become a regular member of the PSG team. “No, I’ve never considered leaving,” he said when asked about a prospective relocation. “You must maintain the mentality.” It is up to me to keep working so that the coach may trust me. That’s my experience: I’ve always had to work hard. Things were never easy for me. “You cannot give up.””If you do, it’s over.”

As the January transfer window approaches, negotiations between Manchester United, PSG, and Kolo Muani are set to continue. Amorim is eager to broaden his offensive options and sees the Frenchman as a player with untapped potential. Kolo Muani’s loan transfer to Old Trafford might present him with a new opportunity to reclaim the form that propelled him to the top of Europe’s forward rankings. However, persuading the player to leave PSG midway through the season might be difficult.
