Romeo Lavia, a Chelsea midfielder, has provided a positive injury update.
A year after joining the club, the Belgian international has begun to establish himself in Enzo Maresca’s first team this season.

Lavia’s initial season with the Blues was plagued by injury, as he was unable to play for more than 32 minutes as a result of a significant quadriceps issue, despite a £53 million transfer from Southampton.

Nevertheless, Maresca has incorporated a former Manchester City youth player into the team, primarily in lieu of the World Cup-winning Enzo Fernandez. Lavia has started five of Chelsea’s Premier League games and now appears to be the first-choice companion for Moises Caicedo in lieu of the Argentine.

Nevertheless, there would have been cause for concern had Lavia been compelled to leave the game during the final minutes of the 1-1 stalemate with Arsenal on Sunday.

Fernandez was substituted for Lavia at Stamford Bridge and subsequently provided the assist for Pedro Neto. However, it is uncertain whether this will be sufficient to compel the Argentina star to return to the starting lineup.

Lavia is a member of the Belgian squad that has been summoned to compete in the Nations League against Israel and Italy this month. In an interview with RTL Info, he expressed that the injury he sustained against Arsenal was not too severe.

“I have experienced a minor injury; we are currently conducting tests to determine its status, but I anticipate that it will be alright,” he stated.
