Rio Ferdinand, who once played for Manchester United, has criticised Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea, for clearing Noni Madueke of responsibility for his attitude during the match against Arsenal. Madueke was substituted off during the match.

Instead of taking his seat on the bench to watch the rest of the game, Madueke walked down the tunnel instead of taking his place on the pitch, which gave the impression that he was obviously unhappy.

There is no way to justify such disrespectful attitude, and Ferdinand was left feeling very disappointed by it. This is despite the fact that the England international has been having a fantastic season for Chelsea.

This is the type of behaviour that the legendary Manchester United player would never have tolerated from his teammates, and he also made it quite plain that Sir Alex Ferguson would not put up with it.

When Ferdinand was asked about it after the game, he stated that he thought it “mad” that the Italian strategist was instead coming out to cover for the player. Ferdinand believes that Maresca need to be more strict with Madueke and should penalise him.

This is not only insulting to you, but also to your teammates.

“This is a youthful squad. that are the more seasoned guys that are going to walk in there and say, “Woah, that is not something that we accept here?”

I can see where he is coming from, but at the same time, I don’t get the reason you are acting in that manner.

Further, he stated, “This is where the manager comes into play.” I believe that the manager who is defending him is insane.

Because of this, I was unable to be in that position as a manager because I was unable to come out and play the game in which you say, “Yeah, he was in the wrong, but [he’s a good kid].” That is a fine for a period of two weeks.
