“Given his audacity to threaten me, I have chosen to allow him to join Arsenal. However, please note that I take no responsibility if the club destroys his career.” After the player made several requests for a transfer, the club manager ultimately gave up on keeping the £61 million transfer target, Arsenal.

According to the Spanish publication Fichajes, Manchester United has’set their sights’ on signing AZ Alkmaar star and Arsenal target Ruben van Bommel.

The 20-year-old had some time to get used to his new surroundings after joining the Eredivisie team last summer, but he has had an incredible start to the season.

The youthful player has made seven appearances across all competitions, tallying two assists and four goals thus far. Thus, after making a strong start to the campaign, the forward has been quite popular recently.

Arsenal had already stated that they would like to sign him, but Man Utd has now entered the contest, per the Fichajes report.

He pleased the Red Devils with his brace against Elfsborg in the Europa League midweek, and they have now “set their sights” on bringing him to Old Trafford.

The Premier League clubs will need to defeat the German powerhouses in order to finalize any prospective deal for him, though, as the source claims Bayern Munich is also preparing a move for him.

The legendary Dutchman Mark van Bommel is the father of Van Bommel. The young player is technically sound and a left winger, standing 6 feet 3 inches tall. In confined spaces, he is able to dribble past opposing defenders and open doors for other attackers.

Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are Arsenal’s current alternatives for left side of the attack deployment. But lately, the Brazilian has found it difficult to demonstrate his output in front of the goal.

Additionally, Raheem Sterling is available to Mikel Arteta; however, he is expected to return to Chelsea at the conclusion of this season after joining the team on loan.

However, Alejandro Garnacho is Manchester United’s backup to Marcus Rashford, who is the team’s top choice for the left flank spot. Neither forward has, however, been able to demonstrate their cutting edge in front of goal.

Consequently, Man Utd and Arsenal both need to bolster their front lines in the upcoming season. Van Bommel is a tremendously gifted player, but he is still extremely young and may not be prepared to advance in his career just yet.

It would be intriguing to see, though, if the record Premier League winners or the North London club decide to make a serious move to recruit Van Bommel in the coming season.
