Xavi Simons reacts to transfer rumours involving Man United and Arsenal: “I will join Man United on one condition.”
Xavi Simons declares himself “happy” at PSG, but he will decide his future after the Netherlands’ Euro 2024 campaign is concluded.

In 43 games while on loan at Leipzig last season, Simons notched 10 goals and added 15 assists, and there’s a good chance he’ll play for the Bundesliga team again this year.

Le Parisien claims that even though Simons was re-signed a year ago, it appears that he will not be staying at PSG for the forthcoming season.

Simons is reportedly keen to move to the Premier League next summer and that is his top objective, despite rumours that he may move to England this summer.

It looks like his aim is to go on loan to Leipzig for the 2024–2025 season and then move to the English Premier League in 2025.

The 21-year-old, a product of Barcelona’s academy, signed a contract with PSG in 2021 and then joined PSV Eindhoven in his home country of the Netherlands. During an incredible 2022–2023 season, he scored 22 goals.

Simons’ remarkable performance in the Eredivisie caused PSG to activate a £5 million buyback provision in his PSV contract. The young player was then sent on loan to RB Leipzig, where he finished the previous Bundesliga season with eight goals and eleven assists.

However, Simons’ future is still unclear as the Dutchman hasn’t made a name for himself in Paris. There is growing conjecture that Simons may make a high-profile move out of the Parc des Princes during the summer transfer window.

Long known to have a keen interest in Simons, Arsenal is reportedly up against Manchester United and other Premier League opponents for the attacker’s signature.

“My future?” I’m not sure yet. In response to questions regarding his circumstances following the Netherlands’ goalless draw with France at Euro 2024, Simons replied, “I’m here, happy, with my national team.”

“We’ll see what transpires following the Euros.” Would I like to go back to Paris? Things happened in Paris, and I was thrilled. This season, I visited Leipzig.

“We’ll see after the Europeans.” It’s encouraging to know that my fans always wish me the best.

Early this month, reports from France suggested that another loan was “the most likely hypothesis” for this summer and that “nothing has been decided” between Simons and PSG.

When questioned about Simons’ circumstances during a news conference last month, Luis Enrique tried his best to avoid addressing speculation about the Dutchman’s future.

The PSG head coach told reporters, “I have a rule not to talk about players who are not at the club at the moment, who are elsewhere.”

“I made a comment about this player on loan back in the past.” Right now, I have nothing new to share.
