John Terry reveals one regret over his Chelsea Premier League record ‘that may never be broken’
John Terry, a legend for Chelsea, is of the opinion that he is at least somewhat responsible for a Premier League record that may never be surpassed.
Twenty years ago, the brutal machine that was Jose Mourinho was able to win the championship, putting an end to the domination that Manchester United and Arsenal had previously enjoyed.
The invincibles coached by Arsene Wenger were defeated by the cruel machine coached by Jose Mourinho, who accumulated 95 points, lost just one game, and allowed only 15 goals to be scored against them.
The powerful defensive unit that Terry was a part of also included players such as Ashley Cole, Riccardo Carvalho, and Paulo Ferreira. Terry was a vital component of this team.
It should not have come as a surprise that the Blues were such a difficult opponent given that they had a world-class backup in the form of goalkeeper Petr Cech and midfield anchor Claude Makelele.
Despite this, Terry is still of the opinion that the robust defense shouldn’t have been breached as frequently as it did.
He posted a message on Instagram that said, “I recently got sent this list of the 15 goals we conceded in 2004/05. I can’t help but be annoyed, but I’m also very proud to be a part of a great team.”
In my brain, I am going over the games and goals, and I am thinking that this should be ten or fewer or something. I’m not convinced that the record for the most goals surrendered in the Premier League, which is 15, will ever be surpassed. Records are meant to be broken.
Cech, on the other hand, replied to Terry’s remark by pointing out that he, along with his captain, was absent from the final two games of the current campaign.
Terry responded, “Neither did I mate,” in response. In order to ensure that I would be ready for the preseason, I underwent surgery on my toe. That means that you and I only agreed to 13′
