When the Gunners’ bitter rivals, Tottenham, take on title rivals, Manchester City, in midweek, Kai Havertz, an Arsenal forward, has made no secret of his loyalty.

When Arsenal plays Manchester City on Tuesday, Kai Havertz joked that he and the rest of the team will be “the biggest Tottenham fans” present.

The Gunners temporarily regained the top spot in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United. And even though Mikel Arteta’s team has played one fewer game than City, Arsenal will undoubtedly have a shot at winning the championship on the last day of the season.

Midweek match between City and Arsenal’s bitter rivals, Tottenham, will determine the outcome of the title; should Spurs prevail, the Gunners will only need to defeat Everton to snap their agonizing 20-year title drought.

Havertz has also stated that, for one night only, he and his teammates will be supporting the white half of north London, despite the intense rivalry between Arsenal and Tottenham.

Havertz declared, along with Leandro Trossard, the winner of the game, in an interview with Sky Sports: “We are all going to be the biggest Tottenham fans ever! So let’s wish for success.”

Havertz continued, “It was very important.” Regarding the victory overall. It’s never easy to play here. We had a great preparation for the game. Even though we didn’t play our best, we were aware that we needed those three points. Now that we have them, we can be extremely content.”

Given Arsenal’s dismal recent performance at Old Trafford, Arteta acknowledged that the significance of Sunday’s outcome could not be overstated.

The Spaniard stated to Sky Sports, “It cannot be undervalued, without a doubt.” We have only triumphed twice in these 20 years because of this. We had a great start to the game, scored a goal, and I don’t think that helped us play better with the ball.

“We wanted to make today one of the most beautiful days we have ever had by opening that door and bringing it to the final game in front of our people and their families. Together, we’ll have faith and watch what transpires.”

Arteta responded, “I will watch the game,” when asked if he would watch City’s Tuesday trip to Tottenham. I keep up with every game. The true result is what we require. In addition, we still have work to do and everything is on the line.”
