As a result of watching footage prior to the match against Manchester City, supporters of Liverpool believe that two players are planning to leave the club.

At the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, Liverpool defeated Manchester City by a score of 2-0, thereby increasing their lead at the top of the Premier League to 11 points. Pep Guardiola’s team managed to defeat Manchester City.

Fans gathered inside the away end singing, “We’re going to win the league,” as the City faithful left in droves after a lacklustre performance from the home team. Mo Salah scored and provided the assist for Dominik Szoboszlai’s strike, which caused fans to gather inside the away end.

The atmosphere surrounding Liverpool is generally upbeat, and it is easy to understand why, given their success this season, this is the case.

On the other hand, it seems that not everyone is overly enthusiastic about their participation, or their lack of participation, for that matter.

There was a video that surfaced yesterday, prior to Liverpool’s match against City, that showed two players who did not start the match at the Etihad Stadium.

Arne Slot made the decision to bring in Konstantinos Tsimikas and Darwin Nunez as substitutes. The left-back was brought in as a late substitute when he replaced Andrew Robertson with sixteen minutes remaining in the game.

The 25-year-old Nunez was not given the chance to make amends for the shocking miss he made against Aston Villa on Wednesday. This opportunity was not presented to him on Sunday.

Following the release of damning footage of the two players, which can be viewed below, fans are of the opinion that both players may leave the team this summer.

When it came to social media, fans were quick to share their opinions.

You can’t have players with that kind of attitude around the team, said one of them. Regardless of how dissatisfied they are with their performances or the amount of time they have left in the match, a team will pull together. The need for positivity?”

The following was added by another individual: “They need to pick themselves up, they don’t do themselves any favours when they are given the opportunity to play, and we need players to be thinking about the team and the end goal.”

“BTW, these are 2 players who I expect to be on the move in the summer.”

It was explained by a third person that “we need to get rid of both in the summer.”

While a fourth individual made the following observation: “Nunez is getting sold, I wish him the best and hope he picks up.”

As of right now, Tsimikas’s contract with Liverpool is scheduled to remain in effect until the summer of 2027, whereas Nunez’s contract is scheduled to expire in June of 2028.

The Greek defender has only appeared in 23 games so far this season, and it would appear that Slot does not have any interest in him.

When it comes to Nunez, he has not been able to find a consistent run of good form and has not yet been able to justify the £85 million transfer fee that Liverpool paid for him when he arrived from Benfica in the summer of 2022 during the transfer window.
