Man United captain Bruno Fernandes says £103m ‘excellent’ Benfica star is ‘ready’ for a move to Old Trafford

The 19-year-old player has established himself as a regular member of Benfica’s starting lineup and is already a compatriot of Fernandes on the national squad.

His exceptional performances, which beyond expectations given his age, have garnered the interest of the most prestigious teams in Europe.

Benfica refuted allegations in January that they had engaged in discussions with Manchester United regarding Neves. However, it is undeniable that the Red Devils are among the frontrunners in the pursuit of his signing.

Neves’ contract has a release clause of £103 million, which United is unwilling to meet.

However, although Fernandes declined to directly acknowledge United’s interest, he asserts that his Portugal teammate is prepared to join a prominent and influential football club.

“I am uncertain about the accuracy of the United rumors, but I am confident that he is prepared for a significant advancement,” stated Fernandes.

‘He is a highly skilled footballer and is currently a member of the National team.’ That is also the reason why the major teams are pursuing him.

It is anticipated that Manchester United will not renew Raphael Varane’s contract and will release him at the conclusion of the current season.

The Frenchman is among the club’s most highly compensated players, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is eager to decrease the total amount of money spent on salaries.

Jonny Evans is expected to depart, while there is a possibility of either Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof being offloaded.
