Man United is confident in their ability to negotiate a reasonable agreement to acquire the £84m-rated Benfica star. This summer, Manchester United is in the market for a second centre-back.

Manager Erik ten Hag has encouraged the Red Devils to acquire an additional central defender, despite the fact that Leny Yoro was already acquired from Lille for £59 million.

In recent weeks, Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt has been closely associated with United. However, their proposal of £29.5 million has been unable to meet the asking price of £42 million plus add-ons.

United is reportedly contemplating a trade for Antonio Silva of Benfica, as reported by O Jogo (page 8). Silva is one of the most talented teenage centre backs in European soccer.

The 20-year-old’s contract with Benfica now includes a substantial release clause, valued at £84 million.

Nevertheless, United is “persuaded” that they can acquire the accomplished Portuguese player at a “reasonable” price.

Silva would be the second individual to autograph a statement following Yoro.

Joao Neves, a midfielder for Benfica, is presently on the brink of joining Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ligue 1 champions are expected to sign the Portuguese wonderkid for £59m, despite the fact that his contract includes a release clause worth £101m. Renato Sanches may return to Benfica.

The Red Devils should receive ample motivation from the proposed agreement. United should be optimistic about the possibility of signing Silva for approximately £50 million, with a peripheral player serving as a makeweight.

Silva would be the second individual to autograph a statement following Yoro. The Portuguese centre-back did not have a successful European Championship, but he was exceptional for Benfica last season.

The youngster completed 61 percent of his long passes and had a passing accuracy of 93 percent.

Six recoveries, three clearances, and 2.1 challenges per league appearance were also achieved by the Benfica graduate, who won 67 percent of his ground and aerial duels.

Similar to Yoro, he has demonstrated immense potential and a high level of maturity at a tender age. He would be an exceptional acquisition with the intention of achieving long-term success.
