Man Utd ‘monitoring’ shock manager to replace Ruben Amorim but face stiff competition from Premier League rival

It has been reported that more than just Manchester United are interested in a possible replacement for Ruben Amorim in the Premier League.

Amorim has had a rough go of it as United manager since taking over in November as Erik ten Hag’s replacement at Old Trafford.

With just five victories, three draws, and eight shocking losses in the Premier League this season, the Portuguese manager has presided over a new club that has struggled to find success under his leadership.

United may have already selected their ideal replacement for Amorim, according to a new report, and are allegedly getting ready to replace him.

Even though Amorim has only been with the club for four months, some fans are already demanding his dismissal because United is currently 14th in the Premier League, which would be their worst finish since the competition’s inception in 1992.

The Italian news site TuttoSport reports that United are also monitoring Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi in the lead-up to next year’s contract expiration, as they share this concern.

Having won the title last season, Inzaghi is currently enjoying a fantastic season with Inter Milan, sitting atop the Serie A table.

Tottenham Hotspur, United’s Premier League rivals, are reportedly also admiring the Italian manager and considering him as a possible successor to Ange Postecoglu, who has also had a disappointing season.

After club minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe lauded United manager Jose Mourinho in a bombshell interview on Monday, it’s looking improbable that United will be looking to fire Amorim anytime soon.

Ratcliffe told Gary Neville on The Overlap, “I think Ruben has done an excellent job.”.

The guy named Ruben is great. Under the given conditions, I believe… I mean, he showed up in the middle of the season, which left him with little time to coach his players the way he wants them to play. When he took over as manager, he inherited a team that he hasn’t changed a bit. The team isn’t exactly built for his style of play. He also has a lot of challenges, like the fact that English isn’t his first language, he’s never played in the Premier League, he’s the youngest manager in the world, and the pressures of the job are tough.

“If you take all of that into consideration, I think he’s done a remarkably good job.”
