It is anticipated that Bologna defensive wonder Riccardo Calafiori will be officially signed by Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal next week.
Arsenal is attempting to finalise the agreement to recruit Riccardo Calafiori, and according to Fabrizio Romano, they have held fresh negotiations with Bologna. Both the player and the Italian club have already reached an agreement with the Gunners. Next week is when all official procedures related to the transfer are anticipated to be finished.

Over the past 12 months, Calafiori has had a quite remarkable increase. When he returned to Serie A with Bologna, the AS Roma academy graduate enjoyed a fantastic first season. He played 33 games and finished with seven goal contribution.

His reliable efforts earned him a spot on the Italian squad for the 2024 European Championship. With some outstanding performances at the back, Calafiori undoubtedly established himself, even though the Azzurri fell short of the expectations.

Many elite clubs from throughout Europe expressed interest as a result. After his vacation, the 22-year-old defender told the Bologna board straight out that he wants to go on and sign with a better team. Although early reports stated that Calafiori would rather remain in Italy, he is scheduled to join Arsenal, one of the biggest teams in the Premier League.

Next week, Calafiori’s signing with Arsenal will be finalised.
For a considerable amount of time, the Gunners have been making great efforts to use him. They just closed a deal with the Italian club, and they had already worked out personal details for the player to join them on a five-year contract. For the privilege of hiring him, the North London club has agreed to pay €40 million in addition to another €5 million.

The player has three years remaining on his contract with Bologna, and they have managed to get him a sell-on clause. A few last details need to be worked out even though both sides are in agreement over a move. Both teams reportedly had further talks to seal the agreement, according to Romano.

Bologna and Calafiori’s previous team, FC Basel, are unable to reach a consensus on the current sell-on clause payment schedule, which the Gunners are monitoring. Following the completion of the last form processes and the player’s medical, which is anticipated to happen next week, he will officially sign documents.
