Before the summer transfer window ends, Paul Scholes believes Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, needs to make one improvement.

A number of players have left Old Trafford this summer as part of Erik ten Hag’s extensive overhaul of his first team roster.

Among the Manchester United players that have been sold thus far this summer are Willy Kambwala, Donny van de Beek, and Mason Greenwood.

At the end of the 2023–24 season, players like Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial were free to depart Old Trafford as their contracts were up.

By reaching into United’s war fund, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos have already fortified two crucial sections of Ten Hag’s team.

Joshua Zirkzee, a striker from the Netherlands, was acquired by United this summer from Serie A team Bologna for a reported £36.54 million.

After United agreed to an initial cost of £52.18 million, the Red Devils defeated Real Madrid in the competition to sign French defender Leny Yoro from Ligue 1 side Lille.

Scholes distinguishes After playing two games this summer, Man Utd star Erik ten Hag’s team is flying to the States for the second phase of their preseason trip.

At Scotland’s Murrayfield Stadium, United defeated Rangers 2-0 on Saturday after losing 1-0 to Rosenborg of Norway the previous week.

Due to the 2024 Copa America in the United States and the 2024 Euro in Germany, Ten Hag has been without a number of first-team players for the preseason campaign.

Rasmus Hojlund has been singled out by Paul Scholes, who has stated that the amount of time United spent relying just on the Danish forward last season was “a little bit unfair.”

After moving from Atalanta to Old Trafford in the summer of last year, Rasmus Hojlund, a 21-year-old striker for United, was scoreless in his first 14 Premier League games.

According to the Metro, Scholes said of Manchester United, “I think about brilliant centre-forwards.” He made this statement to Sky Sports.

“I believe it was a little unfair that they had to rely on Rasmus Hojlund, a rookie player, last year. He’s just starting out and is still learning the game.

Scholes desires “proven.” Man Utd to sign
In order to lessen the reliance on United star Rasmus Hojlund for the 2024–25 season, Scholes welcomed the signing of Joshua Zirkzee.

Nevertheless, the legend of United acknowledged that the Red Devils require a “proven” signing in the attacking department and someone who can have a “successful next year.”

“They purchased Zirkzee, another young child… To essentially guarantee goals, I would want to see an experienced center-forward arrive and help with that,” Scholes went on.

“I don’t know if that man is out there.” However, I believe they need a proven individual in order to move on and succeed the next year.
