The agent of Joshua Zirkzee once got into a heated verbal exchange with Sir Alex Ferguson.
Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna is a striker. It has been widely reported that United is interested in signing him. The Old Trafford team is in contact with Zirkzee’s advisor, Kia Joorabchian, and is debating whether to submit a bid.
The 23-year-old, who is a member of the Netherlands’ Euro 2024 team, scored 12 goals to help Bologna, led by Thiago Motta, qualify for the Champions League.
But United has dealt with Joorabchian before. In fact, back in 2009, Ferguson, the manager of United at the time, and the agency were having a verbal spat over the possibility of signing Carlos Tevez on a permanent basis.
Ferguson indicated at the time that a deal had been negotiated to keep Tevez at Old Trafford once his loan ended. Joorabchian responded, calling the claim “categorically false,” stating that Manchester United had made an attempt to convince Tevez to stay.
