Ahead of Ruben Amorim’s first Manchester United match as manager on Sunday, former Sky Sports host Richard Keys has given the Portuguese manager a severe warning.

Keys, 67, gained notoriety mostly for his nearly two-decade employment with Sky Sports.

He presently works with former professional football player Andy Grey for the Middle Eastern channel beIN Sports.

From Doha, Qatar, the two provide football coverage in both English and European languages.

In addition to his work on television, Keys frequently contributes to a blog where he shares his thoughts on the most important football plots.

Like other journalists, he hasn’t held back when discussing his thoughts on Manchester United. He has stated that he believes the team’s decision to retain former manager Erik ten Hag for so long will cost new manager Amorim.

Regarding possible transfer monies that might be helpful in January, he clarified on November 19 that Amorim has “nothing” left.

“Every update from OT [Old Trafford] emphasises what a disastrous error it was to retain [Erik] ten Toast [Hag] last summer,” Keys wrote on X.

“They allowed him to spend more than £200 million on trash, and now Amorim has nothing.” Someone in the brain trust ought to be let go. Amorim has nothing with which to operate.

The summer additions are most likely the “rubbish” Keys is referring to; Ten Hag having collaborated with a number of them at Ajax before to joining United.
