As the dispute between Rio Ferdinand and Jamie Carragher continues on social media, Rio Ferdinand has made a new dig at Carragher.

The comments that Carragher made about Mohamed Salah on Sunday evening caused a significant amount of controversy. These comments were made in response to Salah’s outstanding performance during Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Manchester City.

Liverpool moved 11 points ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League table thanks to the Egyptian’s performance, which included scoring and providing an assist to Dominik Szoboszlai. This helped Liverpool move ahead of Arsenal.

In his discussion of Salah’s potential to win the Ballon d’Or, Carragher was met with criticism for what appeared to be a disrespectful attitude towards the African Football Confederation (AFCON).

“Just on you saying that the African Cup of Nations is not a major tournament,” Micah Richards, another pundit, tweeted at the time. There are going to be a lot of people there who disagree with that. The African Cup of Nations is a significant competition.

During the course of their discussion on the matter, Carragher made the following statement: “But Egypt aren’t going to win the World Cup, are they?” “No, but the African Cup of Nations is a big deal, isn’t it?” Richards responded. Have you ever thought about the time when Salah and Mane were going for it? After that, Carragher was seen shaking his head and muttering, “Oh my god.”

Carragher was subjected to a significant amount of criticism as a result of the show, and on Monday evening, the former England international took to social media in order to provide clarification on his remarks.

In the meantime, he was involved in a dispute on social media with Ferdinand, a former defender for Manchester United, whom Carragher referred to as a “clown.”

In light of the ongoing controversy on social media, Rio Ferdinand has taken another jab at Jamie Carragher.

Ferdinand took advantage of the opportunity to make another dig at Carragher on Wednesday morning, after he witnessed tennis legend Boris Becker criticising the former Liverpool player he had previously played for.

In response to a tweet that Carragher had posted, in which he speculated about Bayern Munich, Becker wrote, “There haven’t been any questions regarding the appointment of Kompany!

It was just recently stated by @FCBayern that the domestic title is the most important trophy this year, and they are pleased with the work that Vincent Kompany has done. “Jamie is not at all knowledgeable about anything… @Carra23.”

In the following letter, Ferdinand wrote, “Boris… he’s having a bad couple of weeks.” Permit him to go.”
