Marc Cucurella, a top player for Chelsea, has stated that supporters and players from the other team in the Premier League are “going after” him because they are still “hurting” after Spain’s triumph over England in the Euro 2024 final.

Following a high-profile transfer move from Brighton in 2022 that cost £55 million, the full-back, who is now 26 years old, had a challenging beginning to his time at Chelsea for a number of reasons.

Cucurella, however, was chosen by Luis de la Fuente to be a part of Spain’s squad for the European Championship that took place this summer. The defender was an essential part of the team that won the trophy for the fourth time in the history of La Roja.

After assisting Mikel Oyarzabal in scoring the game-winning goal in the final against Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions, Cucurella was subsequently selected for inclusion in the official Team of the Tournament due to his outstanding performance in Germany when the tournament was being played.

Cucurella has continued his outstanding form while wearing a Chelsea shirt and has started all seven of the club’s matches in the English top division this season. It would appear that the success has rubbed off on Cucurella, especially considering that he has been playing for Chelsea.

However, the left-back will be sidelined for Chelsea’s next encounter against Liverpool since he received his fifth yellow card of the season during the team’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest. That match will take place after Chelsea’s next play.

In response to a question on whether or not he had undergone significant transformations in the months that followed Spain’s victory, Cucurella responded to COPE by saying, “You have more impact, people know you more.”

“Being a European champion is a historic accomplishment, and you will retain that for the rest of your life.”

Cucurella responded to a question about whether he had seen a change in the Premier League by saying, “Well, I’ve already been suspended for five yellow cards and I’ve committed a few fouls; they’re going after me a bit.” Cucurella was asked about his observation of the difference.

Especially when we are playing away from home, they start jumping on me very rapidly.

We won, I was involved in the goal, and I’m playing at their house, so it’s nothing out of the ordinary. It’s not unusual; they could get wounded.

Cucurella, a defender for Chelsea, was delighted with his manager’s words since he considers himself to be a “team player.” Recently, Chelsea head coach Maresca made a point of applauding Cucurella’s effect in the dressing room.

In addition, he stated, “I am a team player; I assist my teammates, and I contribute to the success of the team.”

“If the team is sleeping, I give that little bit extra, and I give intensity that infects my teammates,” she said. The way he stated it was quite clear.Cucurella is grateful for the little period of time he was able to work under the direction of Mauricio Pochettino, and he feels that the Argentine play a role in the fact that he arrived to the European Championships in “perfect shape.”

To the question of how much of an impact Pochettino has had on his professional life, he said, “A lot.”When I first started playing, I didn’t play at all. After that, I started playing a lot, but then I was hurt and had to have surgery.

Then, up to the very end, everything proceeded without a hitch.

Both he and the team were really helpful in letting me know that work is going to be beneficial to you. They enjoyed working with me very much, and it was wonderful when I was able to get into their rhythm and style.

“I arrived at the Euros in excellent physical condition.”
