Bayern Munich and Thomas Tuchel believed they should have been awarded a second penalty against Arsenal.

Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, became enraged when he did not receive a second penalty against Arsenal.

Bukayo Saka’s opening goal put the Bavarian giants ahead 1-0 in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal.

However, Serge Gnabry, a former Arsenal player, tied the score before Harry Kane, a former Spurs player, put Bayern ahead with a cool penalty.

In the 76th minute, Leandro Trossard equalized, setting up a major match in Munich the following week.

Saka and Arsenal felt that the England winger’s collision with Manuel Neuer in the 95th minute should have resulted in a penalty.

However, a contentious penalty call in the 66th minute also incensed the visitors.

After the referee blew the whistle, David Raya passed the ball to Gabriel Magalhaes, who picked it up and put it back on the six-yard box, seemingly giving him a goal kick.

Players for Bayern made an appeal, but Glenn Nyberg stood his ground and dismissed any objections.

Additionally, there didn’t seem to be a VAR check, and an irate Tuchel asserts that the referee acknowledged his mistake but decided not to award because of the situation.

Tuchel said to TNT Sports, “I think the referee did not have the courage today to give a deserved penalty in a bit of a crazy and awkward situation.”

“However, he acknowledged on the field that he observed the circumstance and that a quarterfinal is insufficient for him to award a penalty for his error.

He acknowledged that he was aware of the player’s error, which is a little annoying. The goalie was whistling when he passed the ball to the central defender. He touched the ball with his hand—I’m not sure which one it was—believing it to be out of the game, but it was.

“It was a handball, and the referee acknowledged that it was in play. The error was not worth examining, which enrages us and frustrates our players greatly.

Tuchel continued by saying that Rio Ferdinand was left in shock by the call, calling Gabriel’s mistake a “kid’s error.”

He stated, “It’s a pen,” while speaking on TNT Sports. How could that not be given, oh my god? I am even more so because I was so certain that Saka’s was. It’s astounding. How is he able to raise the alarm in such a way and withhold that?
