Thomas Tuchel Texts 4 Premier League Players Ahead of Naming First England Squad

Prior to last weekend’s Premier League matches, England boss Thomas Tuchel texted four Three Lions players, implying that they would probably be included in the German’s first-ever squad announcement later this week. The former manager of Chelsea and Bayern Munich will take over as manager of the Three Lions when they play Albania and Latvia in two World Cup qualifying matches on March 21 and 24 at Wembley.

Ben White, an Arsenal defender who has been conspicuously absent since leaving the 2022 World Cup squad due to allegations of a falling out with Gareth Southgate’s coaching staff, has already been mentioned as a potential returnee. Tuchel’s exchanges, nevertheless, might raise the possibility that four other names are also involved.

Tuchel Contacts Four Crystal Palace Players Ahead of Squad Announcement

Dean Henderson revealed that he and three other teammates received special messages

Dean Henderson, the custodian for Crystal Palace, claims that Tuchel called him and three other Eagles players to wish them luck before their match against Ipswich Town last Saturday. According to reports, the German informed Marc Guehi, Adam Wharton, Eberechi Eze, and the custodian that he would be present. This might be a sign of what these four players have planned for the future.

Henderson told the Metro how badly he wanted to add to his two senior caps and described the text messages Tuchel sent to him and his countrymen:

“To be completely honest, I would really like to play for England again and receive another cap. That is one of my objectives, and I’m working towards it. It’s good to know that Tuchel is monitoring the game, as he texted prior to Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Ipswich. He wrote that he would be watching the game from the stands and wished me luck.

It’s good to know that he’s keeping an eye on things since he did, along with Marc [Guehi], Adam [Wharton], and Ebs [Eberechi Eze]. All I can do is handle what I can manage; that’s my role for the team and how the manager wants me to play; I’ve been showing up for important games and I’m having a great time.”

Gareth Southgate’s final Euro 2024 lineup had all four players, but Guehi stood out as he played in all but one of the Three Lions’ matches leading up to the championship game.

Two Championship Players in Contention For Shock Call-Up

Tuchel has been keeping tabs on the stars and may give them an opportunity

When Tuchel announces his first England squad, there may still be a few surprises because it was revealed last month that the 51-year-old was keeping a close eye on Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham and Burnley’s James Trafford in preparation for the forthcoming matches.

Following an arrangement with Burnley investor, former NFL star JJ Watt, that he would come out of retirement provided he didn’t give up for the remainder of the season, Trafford has been in incredible form lately for the Clarets and went on a run of 12 consecutive clean sheets. Bellingham, the brother of Jude, a star for Real Madrid, has been making a name for himself at Sunderland and has been instrumental in their efforts to get promoted to the Premier League.
