Tottenham confirm star set for lengthy layoff after he posted picture from hospital bed
Tottenham has verified the news. Wilson Odobert has undergone surgery, and Ange Postecoglou, the manager of the French winger, is expected to be without the player for a prolonged period of time as a result of the latest physical setback they have experienced.
Wilson Odobert, a top player for Tottenham, has recently undergone surgery on his right hamstring, which comes as the latest setback for the Frenchman. Odobert is expected to spend another extended period of time on the sidelines.
Odobert was acquired by the club from Burnley for almost twenty-five million pounds this summer; however, he only played five times due to two severe injury difficulties, the first of which was a hamstring injury that originally prevented him from playing for a month.
Following that, he was only able to participate in two minutes of action towards the conclusion of Tottenham’s 1-0 victory over AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League. However, a more recent occurrence of the problem necessitated that he undergo surgical intervention.
It was confirmed by Tottenham that he had undergone surgery, and the club’s medical staff acknowledged that they would examine him carefully before deciding when he would be able to return to action.
The following is a statement that was released: “We are able to confirm that Wilson Odobert underwent surgery on his right hamstring yesterday (Saturday, November 16). Our medical staff will continue to keep a close eye on the 19-year-old athlete in order to decide when he will be able to resume his training responsibilities.
Shortly after the operation was completed, Odobert uploaded a photograph of himself lying in a hospital bed at the Princess Grace Hospital in Marylebone. He captioned the photo with the word “thanks God,” expressing his relief that he is finally able to start his rehabilitation from a persistent issue.
Spurs scouts were struck by the teenager’s excellent displays for Burnley under Vincent Kompany last season, despite the fact that Burnley experienced relegation. The winger was a surprise acquisition for Tottenham this summer, and his arrival slipped under the radar.
The injury sustained by Odobert is just one of several that Spurs have endured this season. Another winger, Son Heung-min, has been sidelined for around one month due to a hamstring injury that he also sustained.
In the north London area, hamstring injuries have been a recurrent problem during the current season. Mickey van de Ven and Richarlison, both forwards, have both been out due to similar concerns. Timo Werner, on the other hand, is now out with a hip injury.
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, stated that he and his staff would need to exercise caution while bringing injured stars back to the team in order to prevent the loss of any other players over the long term. He specifically mentioned Son as a player who should be handled with caution.
He made the following statement: “In the end, it is about ensuring that we get [Son] back and that we don’t lose him.” When we are in that position, we just cannot afford to have any more injuries. We are unable to afford to lose another player in that part of the park because we have Wilson Odobert, who is suffering from a long-term injury, Richarlison, who is also suffering from a long-term injury, and Mikey Moore, who is now sitting out of action.
