Trent Alexander-Arnold has competed against some of the most talented players in the world, such as Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi, among others.

On the other hand, the right-back for Liverpool named a former Manchester City prospect as his most difficult opponent who “never made it.”

Over the course of his career, Alexander-Arnold has made 344 appearances, earned titles in both the Premier League and the Champions League, and worked his way up through the ranks at the club where he spent his childhood.

Jeremy Doku, Leroy Sane, and Raheem Sterling are just a few of the players he has had to contend with during games against City. He has also had to deal with a whole host of other difficult customers.

On the other hand, it was a relatively unknown quantity that the England international admitted “destroyed” him in youth games against City. In an interview for Liverpool’s YouTube channel, Alexander-Arnold recalled his encounter with Brandon Barker, who gave him a rough time during an Under-21 match at Anfield and made him believe that he was “going to be the best player in the world.” Barker’s performance resulted in Alexander-Arnold wanting to be the best player in the world.

Since that game, he admitted that no one has ever given him the time of day or the benefit of the doubt.

Alexander Arnold made the following statement: “I would say that Brandon Barker’s previous team was Manchester City.”

It was my first time ever at Anfield, and I was playing for the Under-21s. We were defeated by a score of 3-0. At the same time, he assisted on two goals. I left at sixty minutes past the hour.

“Even to this day, I believe that he is the adversary who has just completely obliterated me, individual. Such a situation has never occurred to me before.

“At that moment, I was thinking, ‘This kid is going to be the best player in the world.’ I had never seen anyone move so quickly, sharply, and effectively before, so I would say that there is no doubt in my mind that is going to be the case. This is Brandon Barker.
