What Man Utd Fans Are Saying About Chido Obi-Martin as His Highlights vs Everton Emerge

Manchester United fans got their first genuine look at Chido Obi-Martin on Saturday, when he came off the bench in the second half of their Premier League match against Everton. The 17-year-old had appeared in the previous encounter against Tottenham Hotspur, but was only given a few minutes and had little chance to make an impression.

That was not the case against the Toffees, as the forward was introduced with 20 minutes remaining in the game and given the opportunity to show fans what he could do. At the time of his arrival, United trailed David Moyes’ side by two goals, but they rallied and scored twice in the final 20 minutes to earn a point and draw 2-2.

Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte scored the Red Devils’ winning goals, but Obi-Martin also played a role, and his highlights have since surfaced online, with fans weighing in on his performance.

Obi-Martin Had a Decent Cameo

Fans aren’t sure he’s ready yet

Fans were ecstatic when United signed Obi-Martin after a stay in Arsenal’s academy. The child shows a lot of promise, and his future seems bright. Highlights of his cameo against Everton have been posted online, and fans have offered their first views of the teenager, as well as their thoughts on his play.

The teenager looked active and collected a yellow card during his 20-minute appearance, but he didn’t provide much of a threat up front, and United fans believe that while he looked potential, he isn’t quite ready for the first squad just yet. There’s still lots of time for him to improve, and he’ll undoubtedly be in the running soon.

When asked about his performance, one fan rushed to Twitter and remarked, “That he’s not ready,” while another agreed, writing, “He played like a 17-year-old, not frightened in the least, but don’t think he’s ready yet. I hope he gets a few more cameos and maybe a start or two over the season, but he’s not our saviour – nor should he be.”

Another fan wrote, “He affected the game without doing ich and appeared anxious. Needs some time to settle in. Will be excellent next season!” Finally, another fan admitted he wasn’t quite ready for the first team, stating, “Not ready – don’t get carried away. “Should have controlled Zirkzee’s through ball and taken a shot; other poor touches.”
