Victor Lindelof, a defender for Manchester United, has been removed from the Sweden team after suffering a groin injury while his side was competing against Slovakia in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday night.
Lindelof was taken off the pitch in the 26th minute of the match that took place in Group 1 of League C. He appeared to be in a great deal of discomfort as he was leaving the pitch, which indicated that he had experienced a problem that may possibly last for a long time.

It has been announced by Sweden that the centre defender has been removed from the team in preparation for Sweden’s match against Azerbaijan, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday night. He will now return to Manchester United in order to undergo evaluation by the medical experts there.

Because of the extent of the problem, it is extremely doubtful that Lindelof will be able to play for Manchester United in their Premier League match against Ipswich Town the following weekend. This match will be Ruben Amorim’s first game as manager of the club.

This season, the 30-year-old player has appeared for Manchester United seven times; however, only four of those appearances have been in the Premier League. In all, he has played 58 minutes of league football during the 2024-25 season.

Due to a groin injury, Lindelof has decided to withdraw from the Sweden team.
As a result of a toe injury, Lindelof was unable to participate in the early parts of the season; nonetheless, he has emerged off the bench to participate in four of Manchester United’s most recent five Premier League matches.

Due to the fact that his current contract is set to end in June of next year, there is a great deal of doubt over his future at Old Trafford. At this point, it is considered that a new contract with the English champions, who have won the title twenty times, is quite improbable.

There have been rumours that AC Milan is interested in signing Lindelof, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is an advisor for the Italian giants, recently explored the possibility of a transfer for the seasoned defender.

You can never be sure. When questioned directly about the possibility of Lindelof moving to San Siro on a free transfer, Ibrahimovic responded to TV4 by saying, “There are a lot of rumours being spread.”

The reason that I am Swedish and Lindelof is Swedish is the primary reason for that rumour. He is an outstanding player. I believe that he is performing well at United, but there are a lot of other talented players who are playing his position. I have no idea what it is that he wants. You should probably enquire with him.
