Arsenal has been seeking a new striker this summer; however, it is now apparent that a current forward will be departing the Emirates Stadium in the subsequent weeks.

After extensive discussions with Mikel Arteta, Arsenal has made a significant decision regarding youthful striker Chido Obi-Martin.

The Gunners have been linked to a number of top-tier center-forwards in the months leading up to the 2024/25 season, with Benjamin Sesko initially being the primary target. Nevertheless, Sesko has extended his contract with RB Leipzig, which will ensure that he remains in Germany this summer.

Additional potential candidates, including Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen, as well as Premier League players Ollie Watkins and Aleksander Isak, have been discussed. However, it is improbable that any of them will relocate to the Emirates Stadium prior to the beginning of September.

Rather, it appears more likely that there will be a departure from the vanguard, particularly in light of Eddie Nketiah’s ongoing negotiations to relocate to Marseille. The 25-year-old is rumoured to be interested in joining the French club, which is currently in the process of negotiating a price with Arsenal.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia are also interested in Gabriel Jesus. Obi-Martin, an academy prodigy, is one striker who is undoubtedly on the decline. On Tuesday, Arsenal released a statement announcing their new first-year scholars. Obi-Martin, who would have been included had he signed a new contract, was conspicuously absent.

This essentially affirms his impending departure, as the striker has garnered interest from numerous teams throughout Europe. Bayern Munich, Newcastle, AS Monaco, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Manchester United have all reached out to the 16-year-old, with the latter even hosting him. Obi-Martin has not been associated with Liverpool.

Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, is alleged to have engaged in face-to-face discussions with the adolescent, which bolstered his confidence that he would remain; however, it is evident that this will not transpire.

According to Liverpool.com, Arsenal is experiencing a concerning trend as youthful talents, including Obi-Martin, Reuell Walters, and Amario Cozier-Duberry, are expected to pursue opportunities elsewhere this summer.
