Arsenal take sledgehammer to TWO Man Utd transfers after commencing £50m Everton raid

According to a source, Arsenal has reached out to Everton over a £50 million deal, and should an agreement be reached, two Manchester United transfer plans might be destroyed.

When the summer transfer market began on Friday, Manchester United did not waste any time in submitting their first formal offer. After reaching a personal agreement with Jarrad Branthwaite, the center-back for Everton, the Red Devils presented an initial bid of £43 million (£35 million plus an additional £8 million).

Given that Everton values Branthwaite at around £70 million, the Toffees’ prompt rejection of the deal was expected.

According to sources, Everton might agree to a trade for £65 million or perhaps £60 million. TEAMtalk has discovered, nevertheless, that Man Utd will not be coerced into paying an exorbitant amount and do not intend to overpay.

There are several more options that United has in mind, such as Matthijs De Ligt, Leny Yoro, and Jean-Clair Todibo. Overnight, it was reported that Manchester United had begun the process of trying to recruit De Ligt of Bayern Munich.

However, Branthwaite is still United’s top target for the role, and the team is anticipated to keep pursuing the left-footed player.

However, a recent report from the Liverpool Echo suggests that a Branthwaite transfer could not happen anytime soon.

Man Utd transfer plans are disrupted by Arsenal
This is due to the fact that Arsenal initiated contact with Everton on Friday in an attempt to acquire Belgian midfield player Amadou Onana.

According to the Echo, Everton would almost definitely refuse to sell Branthwaite for less than their £70 million aim if Onana were sold to the Gunners, since this would significantly reduce the need to raise money before June 30.

What hurts Man Utd even more is that they have also entertained the idea of signing Onana, who is thought of as Casemiro’s replacement. The experienced Brazilian may be sold to the Saudi Pro League after he displayed concerning declines in his performance the previous season.

Onana would relocate to the Emirates rather than Old Trafford, though, if Arsenal had their way. Man Utd would lose out on Branthwaite as well, unless they are willing to pay a high price.

Onana dazzles Arsenal team; £50 million price tag revealed
Onana, 22, has reportedly been under Arsenal’s observation for a full year. The midfielder is thought to be a younger, more motivated replacement for Thomas Partey, who is anticipated to sign a deal to move to Saudi Arabia for a price between £20 and £25 million.

Arsenal has no plans to extend Partey’s contract, which expires in 2025, to the 31-year-old. As such, Arsenal’s best chance to profit and garner the most value is during the current window.

Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle have piqued Arsenal’s interest.

Guimaraes won’t, however, accept anything less than his enormous £100m release clause. Crucially, Onana has Premier League experience and is three years younger than Zubimendi.

Onana made an impression in both of Arsenal’s Premier League matchups with the Gunners last season, and rumour has it that his standout performances generated conversation in the Arsenal locker room after the game.

Onana, who was frequently benched in the last stretch, doesn’t seem to have won Sean Dyche over as the Toffees’ manager, either.

In fact, Onana was used as a substitute in Everton’s victories over Brentford, Nottingham Forest, and Liverpool in the closing games of the season.
