Paul Scholes, a Manchester United star, has urged the team to recruit a “proven” center-forward this summer to increase their attacking options.

Following a very poor Premier League season, the Red Devils have been active in the transfer market, finalising agreements for Leny Yoro, an 18-year-old defender for Lille, and Joshua Zirkzee, a 23-year-old forward for Bologna, in recent days.

However, United is quietly attempting to bolster Erik ten Hag’s first-term team prior to the transfer deadline, and Matthijs de Ligt of Bayern Munich is rumoured to be at the top of their wish list.

Another player who is still being strongly linked is Manuel Ugarte, but United may have to search elsewhere for midfield reinforcements as Paris Saint-Germain has rejected several of their proposals.

With Zirkzee’s arrival, Rasmus Hojlund’s workload should be less. After a £64 million transfer, Hojlund had a mixed debut season at Old Trafford, managing just 10 goals.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Scholes claimed that United had been “unfair” in their over-reliance on a Hojlund and urged his old team to add a more seasoned striker to help with goal scoring.

The illustrious former Manchester United and England midfielder remarked, “When I think about Manchester United, I think about brilliant center-forwards.”

“It was a little unfair, in my opinion, that they had to rely on one young player last year, Rasmus Hojlund.” He’s still learning the game as a young player.

“They purchased another young animal, Zirkzee.” A seasoned centre forward who can almost assure goals should come help with that, please.

“I don’t know if that man is out there.” However, I believe they need someone who has demonstrated their abilities in order to succeed the following year.

Moving from club to international football, Scholes identified two managers—Eddie Howe and Pep Guardiola—who have the potential to succeed Gareth Southgate as England’s manager.

Many would concur that, right now, Eddie Howe would be the one. When asked about potential contenders for the Three Lions position, Scholes responded, “He’s a fantastic coach and he’s doing a great job at Newcastle.”

“He’s an incredible coach and he’s doing a great job at Newcastle.”

Is he able to lead them to the next level? I’m not sure. However, I believe he is the most likely to be the most capable.

With this group of players, I believe Pep could help them over the finish line.

I don’t know whether that’s possible, but I believe he would be the best player to lead this club to success.
