As a major prediction for the Premier League title is made, Arsenal is expected to buy a striker who can score 72 goals in a very inexpensive deal.

Ivan Toney, a star player for Brentford, has been heavily connected with Arsenal throughout the summer. Arsenal is currently looking to acquire a new centre forward, and Toney has been a subject of intense speculation.

It is clear to Mikel Arteta that his Gunners team needs to get a new striker in order to compete with Manchester City for the Premier League title. This is especially true considering that Eddie Nketiah is on his way out of the club.

After being informed by Arsenal that he will not receive consistent minutes this season, Nketiah, who is 25 years old, has been the subject of two bids from the French giants Marseille.

The aforementioned proposals have been turned down; nevertheless, it is anticipated that Roberto De Zerbi’s team will present a third offer now that Arsenal has apparently lowered their demands.

Everton is also keeping a careful eye on the situation with Nketiah, although Marseille continues to be the most likely candidate to acquire his services at this point in time.

The circumstances surrounding Nketiah have made Arsenal’s quest for a replacement forward more intense. Viktor Gyokeres, a goal machine for Sporting CP, was initially their main target; however, the goal machine’s price tag of £86 million has proven to be too pricey.

In light of the fact that Brentford is supposedly capable of selling Toney for as little as forty million pounds, the Gunners are currently searching the market for alternatives, and Toney appears to be a possible possibility.

In addition to being open to the possibility of joining Arsenal this summer, the England international is prepared to leave the Bees in order to play for a top club.

Arsenal is being pushed to acquire Ivan Toney.
During an interview on The Overlap, Manchester United veteran Paul Scholes stated that he believes Arsenal will win the Premier League this season, but he also emphasised the need of the club acquiring a new striker.

During the previous season, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Nketiah scored a total of 22 goals in the league. This is seven fewer than the outstanding Erling Haaland of Manchester City.

During the previous season, Arsenal did, in fact, score 91 goals in the league altogether, which was only five goals less than the Cityzens scored in total.

According to Scholes, “It is difficult to say that [Arsenal] have not got enough [goal threat] because of the amount of goals they scored, and set pieces were a big advantage to them.”

I believe that acquiring a centre forward would be beneficial, without a doubt. I believe that if you were to sign a number nine who is a complete and total player and who can promise you 25, 30, or more goals like Manchester City has, it would be beneficial.

Whether or if such individuals are present is the only question. In all likelihood, Ivan Toney is the one who has been brought up rather frequently. My opinion is that he has the potential to score 25 goals for Arsenal’s team.

Toney joined Brentford in the year 2020 and has since scored a total of 72 goals for the club. He has been an integral part of the team’s achievements, including their promotion from the Championship and their continuing survival in the Premier League.

In 2022/23, he scored 21 goals, which was a season’s total that was the most ever recorded. However, during the previous season, his growth was hampered by an eight-month suspension for gambling violations.

When it comes to the upcoming weeks, it will be fascinating to observe whether Arsenal follows Scholes’ recommendation and submits a bid for Toney. Recently, Manchester United has also been mentioned as a possible suitor for the striker.
