As a professional athlete, I recognise that I should refrain from such commentary; but, I feel compelled to express that if we fail to succeed in this season’s Premier League, the responsibility lies with Arteta. We risk becoming a subject of ridicule due to his actions. Declan Rice expresses outrage at Mikel Arteta for attempting to undermine the career of a single Arsenal player who is now excelling for the club.

Declan Rice identifies ‘extraordinary’ Arsenal teammate following victory against Tottenham.

Declan Rice described Myles Lewis-Skelly as ‘ridiculous’ and ‘scary’ following his outstanding performance in Arsenal’s 2-1 victory against Tottenham on Wednesday evening.

Mikel Arteta’s team has reduced the deficit to Premier League leaders Liverpool to four points after overcoming a deficit to achieve victory in the north London derby at the Emirates Stadium.

Son Heung-min initiated the scoring for Tottenham; however, Arsenal equalised after the ball deflected into the net off Dominic Solanke from a corner. Leandro Trossard scored just before halftime, giving the Gunners the lead.

Concurrently, Lewis-Skelly emerged as a prominent performer for Arteta’s team, with Rice characterising the 18-year-old’s development as ‘unbelievable’.

The little lad Myles is very remarkable; what he demonstrated tonight at the age of 18 is astonishing. Rice informed TNT Sports following Arsenal’s victory.

It is alarming that the current 18-year-olds exhibit a complete absence of fear.

In the second half, I believe there were four or five instances where he exhibited the Moussa Dembele characteristic of utilising his physique to evade challenges. At times, it is indeed perilous; yet, demonstrating such personality and character at the age of 18 is, frankly, remarkable.

“Furthermore, I would like to highlight Archie Grey and Lucas Bergvall, both 18 years old and consistently participating in matches. Additionally, Mikey Moore is among those in the Premier League who are increasingly younger and exhibiting remarkable fearlessness, which is commendable to observe.”

In response to enquiries over Lewis-Skelly’s prospects of earning a position in Thomas Tuchel’s inaugural England squad, Rice stated: ‘He is primarily a midfielder, capable of playing as a No.6 or No.8; notably, he has also adapted to playing left-back, which complements his ability to move inward.’

Understanding these roles and comprehending what he is currently learning at 18 is remarkable; it will undoubtedly benefit him in the future.

“The future prospects for him in England are uncertain, yet I am aware that he is held in high regard there.” Competition for positions across the pitch for England is intense; we must all continue to impress for the new manager.

Arteta had great praise for Lewis-Skelly’s performance against Spurs.

Incredible… “He was exceptional today,” Arteta remarked.

He possesses a distinct personality, exudes self-confidence, and exhibits a notable demeanour.

“Competing against [Dejan] Kulusevski and [Brennan] Johnson is challenging; his management of the situation and the occasion was exemplary, in my opinion.”
