Josh Wilson-Esbrand, a defender for England’s Under-20 team, has joined Coventry City on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

This season, the 20-year-old left-back has made two appearances as a substitute for Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions in the Champions League.

He came to City from the West Ham academy in 2019 and made his senior debut in the team’s 6-1 Carabao Cup victory over Wycombe the previous season.

“He is a very talented footballer, with pace, power, and technical ability, and a lot of potential,” Sky Blues manager Mark Robins stated on the team’s website.

Over the past 12 months, he has been involved with Manchester City’s first team. We’re excited to collaborate with him.

14th-placed Coventry in the Sky Bet Championship will play their first game back at Burnley on Saturday after losing to non-league Wrexham in the FA Cup last weekend.
