The death of former Liverpool player Coutinho was confirmed today.

Former Liverpool players think the team got Philippe Coutinho for a reasonable amount.

The players who had left Liverpool believed that their former team had done a fair job of securing £142 million for Philippe Coutinho, who was leaving for Barcelona.
The Brazilian came to an agreement on a deal on Saturday. In July, after the Reds turned down a £118 million approach from Barca, he had stated his wish to move to the Nou Camp.

Thanks to the British record cost, Coutinho is now the second most expensive football player in history, behind his countryman Neymar.

Former Liverpool defender Phil Thompson questioned the decision to make the midseason deal given that Coutinho will not be allowed to play for Barca in the Champions League.

It’s hard for me to understand what Philippe will gain because they are winning the league, he has the World Cup at the end of the season, and he can’t play Champions League games for them, Thompson stated on Sky Sports.

Will he be a weekly player for Barcelona? I’m not positive about it. Philippe may have carried on (at Liverpool). He was maybe taking part in a Champions League match.

“He has an incredible opportunity to play for Liverpool every week and to compete at the highest level.” And I scratch my head in astonishment.

But this is a really good deal. It is quite amazing how much money there is, and it will be much welcomed.

Liverpool lost out more when Luis Suarez left for Barcelona three and a half years ago, according to former striker Stan Collymore, since they had other offensive options in the form of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

He posted on Twitter, saying, “Naive that anyone thought Coutinho wouldn’t go in January.” “Downsize your head. If we acquire the right amount of money in January, you are free to depart. Incredible amount of money for a player who many Reds would have driven to Barcelona for £60 million a year ago. Tenth of what Suarez was once worth.

It is hard to argue about whose loss is bigger and by how much given the value that Coutinho and Suarez brought to the squad and the fact that #LFC’s attacking options are significantly more varied now than they were prior to Suarez’s departure. Suarez was a singular person! Mane and Salah are currently Reds players!

Michael Owen is also encouraged by the strength of the Reds’ other front lineup.

He wrote, “It’s unfortunate to see Coutinho go, but he’s given @LFC great service, so it seems like a good deal for all parties.” The squad has enough talent to compete well for the rest of the season even though it will be challenging to replace him.

Jamie Carragher advised Liverpool to spend their windfall more wisely than they did when they invested the money they earned from Suarez.

“Unhappy No more Coutinho. When I played with him, I never thought he’d develop into the player he is now, but over the past few years, he’s been an incredible @LFC player,” he tweeted. However, 142 million! All we need to do is use the money more wisely than we did before to Suarez departing!

Former striker John Aldridge was worried that Liverpool would now have to pay a high price for reinforcements.

People, it looks like Coutinho departed for €160 million. He tweeted, “Now that everyone knows we have the money, it’s hard to find someone unless we pay a premium.”

Joey Barton claims that Liverpool got a better bargain.

“This transaction has shown me that Liverpool has emerged victorious,” he tweeted. It’s a substantial amount of money for Coutinho. Raises the question of how much players such as Salah, Kane, and Hazard should be paid.

Frank Lampard believed Liverpool had also received a “good” deal.

“It’s going to happen at some point because it seems like the player doesn’t want to be there and wants to move on,” he said on BT Sport.

“It was less in the summer, and Liverpool seems to have plenty of cash in that area. They increased the bid to £142 million in six months,” the insider added. They have to fortify themselves around that if they wish to remain a cohesive unit.
